Such a lovely piece Colleen. A beautiful exemplar of the possibilities of writing and the freedom and self knowledge it can bring. For me the depth and flow of free writing often begins with a dream or a process which I've begun shaping as a concept called alchemical journalling. It takes you deep and wide. I've just gone back to painting too. Sometimes journalling images without words feeds my soul more deeply and freely. I'll look forward to more from you.
Thank you so much for your close reading & thoughtful, kind comments. “Alchemical journaling” sounds lovely, & transformative! There is a nervous system teacher by the name of Brigit Viksnins who has a whole nervous system/somatic trauma healing program with a spiritual component by the name of
“Alchemical Alignment.”
I am in a container now with one of her former students trained in her methodologies and I just love it. It is so comprehensive & strengths-based.
And painting! While I have zero talent, Oh how I love it!! 🥰
This reads like breathing itself—steady, rhythmic, urgent in places, but always returning to center. I love the idea of writing as a way of loosening the sticky spaces, of seeing what surfaces when we stop trying to control what shows up. And that MRI machine line—'Please resume breathing'—somehow feels like a directive for all of us. Thanks for sharing this.
Somehow just seeing this comment now Nazish. Thank you so much for your close read and thoughtful comments.🥰 Yes! A gentle nudge (for myself) & my *sincere Hope for all of us!
🥰Thank You my dear friend💞 Your feedback is an honor to receive. I love “I am worth the effort” too!! It’s such a potent, necessary reminder for those of us who are givers. We must source ourselves and fill our own wells first. And we cannot give away what we do not have. Xoxox
